Selling my iMac and want to back up my iTunes folder/music HELP

How's the best way to do this?

I want to move all my music to an external drive and then do a clean install os the OS to sell the machine.

Then of course pass the mp3s from my external drive to my macbook

how to?

the easiest way would be to copy over the music folder to the external drive and than re-import back into the new iTunes on the new machine. There are other options you can do to keep your play counts and such but usually a fresh reload is good for your music listening soul. =)
