Hi. I have an imac, a powerbook (new 15" intel) and an OLD Power Mac G3. I need to get one thing off the G3 but i have NO monitor (I gave it away long ago with the PC 15 pin to Mac 15 pin adapter with it).

What is the easiest way I can see what is on that drive so I can move it over to any of my other macs? i even tried to network it through the ethernet cable, but obviously the sharing is turned off on the G3 and I can't turn it on without a monitor.

I also have some other Dell monitors in the house and I can use them if I know what to get to hook them up.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if I am posting in the wrong place.....

Connect the G3 to a keyboard and to any other Mac via a firewire cable. Boot the G3 holding down the T key an it will mount as a firewire disk on the other mac. This is called target disk mode (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583).

It's not working.... I might add that the G3 is most likely running System 9. But it is not mounting on my imac. I am only turning off and restarting the G3 with the T key held down. I have not turned off the imac. HELP!
