I've got these on my MP3 player - HDD (and on mounted Windows - networked drives).

The folders have little padlocks in the corner, and are locked under 'get info'.

Why can't I do anything to the files on my USB HDD? (Some files and folders are fine, while others aren't).

I've tried in Terminal: "sudo rm file"
but I get operation not permitted. I can't 'untick' the locked box in get info either.

These folders were created using Windows, and the drive is MS-DOS (FAT32) not NTFS

Does anybody have any idea on how to unlock these folders, or to delete their contents?

Does the...silence mean nobody knows the answer? Is it a Leopard bug?

All I want to do is delete ONE file!

🙁 10.5.2 didn't solve this problem.

I took my MP3 player into an Apple store a few weeks back, and the guy there didn't know what to do.

I've also had a PM from another forum member saying he has the same problem...

Come on Apple!

p.s. - wow! Triple post. This is a good monologue! 😛

Booting into Windows and changing permissions doesn't work for me. After removing the 'read only' tick, it just re-appears. 🙁
