Monitor Question

I'm looking at getting a decent monitor for my mini, but not sure what brand to go with, i'd love to get apple, but cant justifiy spending 800 on a 23 monitor for a system that only cost me $1,000

i was kinda looking at a samsung 24", or an hp 24"... what do you think?
