I saw this yesterday via a link on Digg.

I don't claim to be an expert of any kind whatsoever, but it seems quite obvious to me that this is just a rock or land formation of some sort.

Never know, though, I guess.
 
I say real, but not an alien. 😉

It's most likely a trick of the light, shadows on an outcrop of rock. Either that, or Copenhagen's Little Mermaid statue has been magically transported to the Martian surface.
 
can you give us a link... (more than just a picture)

could someone not have taken this in an Earth Desert?
 
Just another example of how the human brain loves to perceive patterns in light as familiar objects. Move along, nothing to see here...
 
This was on CNN last night... Mr. "AC360" kept saying something like Sasquatch made his way to the martian planet. 😀
 
I want it to be real.

Life would get a lot more interesting than the recession, stock market crash, the Iraq War, Britney Spears, etc. You get the picture.
 
Well will you look at that? We've been looking for BigFoot on Earth for many decades and he's been on Mars the entire time!

(I say it's most likely a rock formation though, I would most definitely know what an alien looks like. Visit area 51 sometime, be sure to have a pass though 😉)
