if you can afford the extra why change?
if you want a better machine then cancel your order and get a better one.

do you do FCP?

The RAM in the top order doesn't equal a gig. What exactly were you trying to order?

Shouldn't that be a...

17" iMac, 1.25GHz, 256MB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, SuperDrive, Bluetooth for around $1850.00

Because both the boost to 512MB Apple RAM and a 160GB HD are both about $100 for each and the $2050 price in the second example.

You might as well get AppleCare while you get a deal. RAM can be purchased for cheaper elsewhere, while you can't get AppleCare cheaper anywhere else.
