Read mail not showing up in Mail App

The only mail that is displaying is the unread mail in the Mail app.. I looked through the preferences and I can't see anything that will change the settings for this. How do I make it so I can see my read and unread mail?

Are you looking at a Smart Mailbox view of your mail? Sounds like you are looking at the "Unread Mail" Smart Mailbox.
