i just bought a used powermac g4, i want it to runner faster and just make it a better machine.... these are my specs... tell me what i could do to it.

Machine Model: Power Mac G4
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.0)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 733 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
Memory: 512 MB
Bus Speed: 133 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1

Try to find a 2nd hand slightly faster CPU on eBay, and upgrade the RAM. Not sure what else you could do to be honest.

Well I just got a G4 as well and it looks like there are a few options. You can buy 3rd party upgrades such as Sata controllers which enable you to add large Sata hard drives that run at 7200rpm etc. Add wireless and if you have money to burn a good GPU and even dual processor upgrades on a single processor model. USB 2.0 cards are also quite reasonable.
My model is a G4 466 Digital Audio powermac, which was so cheap it was hard to resist. Day one I have added wireless and a Superdrive.
Purists may say "oh buy a new Mac" but where is the fun in that. I just love tinkering and I'm no expert. Check out my iBook specs!:D
