Hello MacRumors forum posters and readers~
I got an ibook g4 two years ago (12inch one with 512mb of ram) but then I broke it.
Well technically, I didn't break it but my aunt did. She was mad at me because I was not "respecting" her (you know typical Asian parents and whatnot) >_<
Well, I've been without a computer/laptop for 1 year now and I am really depressed. I have $300 saved up in my bank account but my family can not afford to buy a Windows laptop for me let alone an Apple laptop (which is very expensive in my opinion). My aunt had thrown my precious ibook g4 on the floor and the hinge broke off. At the time the Apple Genius told me it would cost $800 (not exact) ish to fix the hinge. We could not afford it so I just lived with a broken hinge. However as time passed, my ibook g4 would not close and would not open at time. Then one day while I turned on my laptop, the hard drive just started spinning really fast and I (not knowing any better) just put pressure on it to release the pin. Little did I know that my pressure on the hard drive would ultimately lead to its "destruction".
Well, soon after the hard drive worked again but then my screen was separated from my screen. So then I got mad and tried to fix it but despite my rigiourious attempt to fix my laptop, it would not work. At the moment, my ibook g4 is broke and is far beyond useable.
The main reason why I want to post here on macrumors was that there was no where else to turn to. I am really embarassed to ask this but if you kind Apple users may, please donate to my paypaul account.I know this is very "low-life" of me and "acting without self-confidence", but I am really desperate. I have tried working and cannot find any money or job in stores and restaurants. I am a high school senior and I need a computer for daily purposes. I am only 17 years old but I am just an outgoing guy who needs a computer.
Thank you all for reading this message and I hope that I can raise up enough money to buy a Macbook. I have dreamed of those beautiful laptops but could never purchase one.
