View Full Version : What does this mean? (Permissions)

So, whenever I repair permissions in Disk Utility (I make a habit of doing it when I install something new or install any updates) I get this one message, no matter how many times I run the permissions repair:

Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

What does that mean, and how do I fix it? I've never modified anything in Leopard so it's not something that I could have done directly.

Thanks.

You don't need to fix it, it'll stay like that. It's annoying I know, you'd rather a clean slate as it were, but it has to display that BS.

A simple google search pulls up this (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306925). Apparently if you upgrade to 10.5.1 via the downloadable updated available from Apple (not software update) then the messages will no longer appear. Don't ask me why this is so.
