Can I put 4gb of Ram in an original Core Duo Macbook?

This may have been asked before but I can't find a sure answer.

The original core duo macbooks have specs that say max of 2gb of ram.

The newer core 2 duo models say max of 4gb of ram.

Does anyone know if its possible to put more then 2gb of ram in the original macbook and have it actually utilize the extra ram?

If anyone is a mac techie and knows for sure, please let me know. Thanks!

Thats a negative. Core Duo's can't address the extra 2GB. So you can put it in there all you want, its just really expensive dead weight for you MB

The Core Duo can only address 2GB (32-bit processor)
the first Core2Duo can only address 3.3GB
and the new ones... 4GB
