microsoft powerpoint wont close

ive tried everything, even turning off my computer and it still remains open when i boot it up. i need to close the application....any help?
 
I'm confused? PowerPoint is starting up when you turn on your computer?

If that's the case go to: System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items>and hide/remove PowerPoint if it's on the list or Startup Items.
