iPod touch what is this thing?

Im pretty sure you are talking about the clear plastic stand?
Its meant for the iPod to sit in it, either horizontally or vertically, while you watch a movie.
To shuffle, press music, then press songs, and at the very top, there should be an option for shuffle.
It does have a speaker, but it is only capable of beeps and squeaks, such as the alarm.
