Business adoption of Vista has been slower than anticipated, with the vast majority still favoring Windows XP and even waiting for Windows 7, Microsoft's next version of Windows scheduled for release in 2010.[99] According to InformationWeek, in December 2006, 6% of business enterprises were expected to employ Vista within the first year, yet as of October 2007, only about 1% of enterprise PCs were actually using Vista.[100] Furthermore, while a large number of businesses have bought licenses to run Windows Vista, many of these companies are holding off deployment.[101]
