What can you burn on a cd that is not an MP3?

A demo request asked for no mp3 files. What type of file should I use that I can convert my mp3's to?

They want .wav or .aiff files which is pure uncompressed audio that gets converted to a .cda file when burned. It could be any uncompressed codec actually (apple lossless, etc) but the burning application just needs to convert it to something any cd player can read and play.

Is there a simple converter I can download to do this? I can only burn with iTunes.

Convert using iTunes, set your import preferences to .aiff 44.1Khz, 16 bit interleaved stereo, then use the "convert" function to create the .aiffs.

You can burn in the finder but it;s not a proper audio CD (known as Red Book), you'll need an app like Toast or Waveburner for that.

I believe the finder will burn Orange Book Cd's but I've never tried it.
