How can I install DVD software on iBook G3, that has Panther on it.

I am trying to install DVD software on my G3 iBook. Can't find any. I just installed CD/RW-DVD combo drive. The computer reads, and, burns Cd's, but can't read the DVD's. Please help. Panther is installed and I am running Mac OS X 3.

Go to Applications> Utilities> System Profiler and open that and tell us what it says it would be helpful, so we can tell if your optical drive is capable of reading dvd's
