I'm confused

When I create a burn folder a black bar will appear at the top of the finder window with a silver burn button to the right

when I enable folder sharing
a 'shared folder' label appears on the black bar instead

But the burn button is suddenly nowhere to be found
even under the context menu

Essentially i'm not able to find a way to burn if my main 'document' folder is shared on my home network ??

Burn folders and shared folders are two completely different beasties for different uses. Shared folders are generally long-term, burn folders are typically collections that are wiped once used. The function of each is at cross-purposes to the other.

I don't fully understand

I previously created some burn folder - and they are parked
in my 'documents' folder (which is now shared on my home network)
They retain the 'burn' button on the black bar

But if I create a new burn folder inside the 'documents' folder, the black bar appears, but without a 'burn' button

So my only solution seem to be to create new burn folders outside the shared 'documents' folder (somewhere else on my hard drive)
And then the burn button will appear
