I just started up my computer now and for no apparent reason, my iSight's green light is on as though the iSight were in use. No iSight-using programs are on and no familiar iSight-using processes can be found in the Activity Monitor. When I launch something like photobooth it complains that the iSight is unavailable. This persists through restarts. What should I do? Thanks.

This happens from time to time on my MacBook as well. I fix it by shutting down, and then restarting. If you just restart the LED will remain on.

Sorry to bump, but does anyone know how to solve this?

I the battery out, and hold the power button for 5 secs, and nothing, made new user account, it was still active on that, so its not user specific.

Also, when i try and open PhotoBooth it doesn't show a picture, as if the camera is in use by another application, but its not.

Any help is much appreciated! 🙂

Just done that now, its very temperamental, sometimes its on, sometimes its now, so only time will tell.

thank!
