I want to put another gig of RAM in my MacBook, but I don't know whether I should install 2 1GB sticks or 1 2GB stick. I'm leaning towards the 1 2GB stick because I could leave in one of the 512 MB sticks and I could also add another 2GB stick in the future. What do you think? Will this be okay?

If you plan on upgrading it to 4GB in the future, then just get the one 2GB stick. If not, get the two 1GB sticks.

It will work just fine, however supposedly matching the same amount in each slot provides better performance.

This is what I heard, but i figure that with the extra 512 MB that I will have it shouldn't be an issue
