I know it might sound kind of far fetched right now but there are rumors all over the blogosphere that if Obama is elected president that he would appoint John Edwards as his AG. I definitively think that Edwards as AG would be one of the best things to happen to this country. Just the thought of him being AG probably gives the CEO's of Halliburton, Blackwater, Exxon, and and many others horrible nightmares at night.

Hmm, I guess I just presumed that whoever won the nomination (Obama or Hillary) would choose Edwards as their VP.

I'd rather see him as a VP for Obama. He would help balance out the ticket nicely.

Isn't Edwards known as an ambulance chaser in his home state? From what I gather many there don't trust him.

As a North Carolinian, I just recall that he didn't do much in the Senate. Hell, you don't need to be from North Carolina to recall that. His heart's in the right place, but his experience is, well, it just doesn't really exist.

I think Clinton and Obama can do better than Edwards for VP, AG, or any other position they're looking to fill.

The country should be purple. Whoever wins should bring in some good people from the other side.
Lincoln had the right idea...

Sure, to a cabinet, but certainly not to the ticket. The last thing we need is a President and Vice President who aren't even ideologically aligned. I'm tired of this pointless drive to the middle. People disagree, it's true. My opinions lean left, others' opinions lean right. Sometimes, my perspective on it will win out, sometimes others' will. But while compromise is sometimes the best solution, it is not a panacea. What the debate needs is not to become watered down on both sides: What we need is a fierce, adversarial discussion of the issues, with people of strong mind and honest heart arguing their perspective of what will help America. From their clash we'll find the compromises we need or we'll make the tough decisions for bold policy that might not be immediately agreeable to everyone, but that are often needed for real change.

I'd say Richardson for VP. Since he's got international experience send him out to all the countries we pissed off and let him talk. Maybe he'll even accomplish something...
Edwards as AG sounds fine to me. Hopefully he'd investigate everything that's been going on these last seven years. Not only should the corporations be quaking in their boots, but the current administration as well.

I think Richardson would make a better Secretary of State, in fact I think he would be outstanding as Sec. of State.
Edwards would be fine as AG but would be better (if only for balancing the ticket) as VP with either Clinton or Obama.

Obama and Hillary already are purple. I get that to the far right, and even some who would consider themselves moderate, they seem like leftists here, but in most other places in the world considered "free", they'd be considered centrist. Looking at their records, you can see they both lean right or to the center on some issues, very seldom as far to the left as given credit for. People can call them "socialists" or whatever all they want, which they have even here, but that doesn't make it true.
As for Edwards, he couldn't be worse than the last AG. Gonzales was a disgrace we'll be cleaning up after for years, if ever. Stick Richardson in there as Sec of State or U.N. Ambassador, someone like Dodd as V.P., and someone like Wes Clark as Sec of Defense, and you'd have a nice cabinet. As long as we don't get more Cheneys and the like, I'll be happy. At this point, most of the rest of the country would probably agree. As would the rest of the world.

Edwards has absolutely no chance whatsoever of being a VP candidate again. None. Nada. Zero. Less than zero, if it were possible.
