exchange email accounts in mail?

Im going to be getting a macbook whenever the new ones come out and was wondering if .mail supported Microsofts Exchange servers. I have a school email account that Id like to be able to access through a mail program and not having to go online.

When you add a new account to mail.app, the 4 options are .mac, POP, IMAP, and Exchange, so it would seem so. Although I have no experience of it.
