NSWindow child windows

I am looking to create a dropdown window inside an existing window, this would look and behave like the toolbar editing window (in Safari) for instance, Is there anyway i can "do this for free" or use existing classes, or do i have to write my own subclass of NSView?

Yes they are called sheets (http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/Sheets/Sheets.html).
