Can't connect to my home network through Leopard

I must say I'm thoroughly pleased with OSX Leopard so far. As a college student though, when I go home I have problems connecting to my home network to format printers and such. I can connect to the internet and that's about it. My family is running a Windows based network but I used to be able to connect to the network automatically with Tiger. Can anyone help me with my issue?

I've heard that windows networking from leopard is buggy, so it might not be the setup.

I've seen that page already and it wasn't of great help. Thanks anyway though.
