Ah, the death of a 5G iPod... I have a black 30GB that's been through friggin' hell. My dog has CHEWED ON IT, THEN LEFT IT OUT ALL NIGHT IN THE FRONT YARD. One time I cracked it open with a screwdriver and busted a corner of the screen, and the flaw is still there.
It's currently running a combination of Podzilla and the touch hack.

In this forum that's like pouring gasoline on a flame...
ime, the Zune software crashed my system twice and in the end still didn't install correctly (on Win XP, no less). The whole setup sucks. I side with Andy Rooney (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/532480/andy_rooneys_zune/) when comparing the two.
Any iPod will last long enough if you take care of it - but with everything electronic, it will fail at some point down the road, that's to be expected.
@Prof: I'm very sorry for your loss. :(

You're kidding? Please tell me you're kidding.
This is the only thing a zune is good for:

Oh, I had the iPod for two and a half years, it lived its life.

I saw this on Engadget a while back and laughed! I only wish they actually made them.
Kind of like why I bought a Microsoft Messenger (with little "Microsoft" tags all over it) bag for my MacBook Pro? This way nobody'll steal it!!
