View Full Version : Installing Windows XP with expired boot camp on tiger

Hi it has been while since i used any macs. So can any one explain to me if i can complete remove mac os X (tiger) and install windows as the only os on my macbook. The thing is i have tiger and the old bootcamp. Thanks a lot for your help.

I don't believe that you can completely remove Tiger. Personally, I have never tried this so I do not know. I am sure someone else will chime in with an answer to this question.
However, you can make a minimalist Tiger install, then use the rest of your HD space for your bootcamp partition. And of course have the Mac by default boot into your bootcamp partition.
To use bootcamp, you will need to set your system clock back. Apple has the tech ref on their site, but I believe anytime before October 1st, 2007.

I'm glad to see this can be done. How can I get an old copy of Bootcamp for my Tiger Macbook? I don't want to upgrade to Leopard.

Yeah--thanks for that.:eek: Most of the links are expired (which is what I found on an earlier google search. If anyone knows of a link that's not dead, I would appreciate it.
