I was noticing that the Beta Version of Windows Vista has way to many bugs, even for a Beta Version. I'd like to know who thinks Microsoft is going to be going out of the operating system business. Could the struggeling economy pull Apple along with Microsoft? Will iMac "The computer that saved Apple" save Apple again?

I sincerely hope that one (or more) of the following is true:
1. English is not your native language
2. America is not your home country
3. Life is not your strong point

Taking the OP's post at face value, firstly, Vista is not a Beta product, it's GA, and has been for about a year. As far as MS leaving the desktop/server OS market, it's unlikely in the foreseeable future, as it's immensely profitable. Lastly, the current downturn is immaterial, and is exceedingly unlikely to cause the demise of either company. In the US we have endured six recessions and seven stock market crashes since the founding of MS and Apple (1975, & 1976, respectively), most of them more severe than the current downturn. You need to take a longer view, and not focus on the immediate.

Maybe the message board has messed up the date on the OP's post. I think the date was supposed to be January 30, 2007.

Even if that were to be true Vista wasn't beta anymore by then.

Unless you take the view that whilst it's not beta, it certainly feels like it.
Not to mention the frequent "It'll be sorted when SP1 comes out".
