I'm not sure if anyone's noticed this, but sometimes when you roll over the trash, the graphic partially disappears with the shadow remaining.

When applications are hidden, their icon is dimmed in the dock. When you have a mainly black icon like the trash can, and it's on top of a black background image, when you hide the trash, that's probably what it would look like. Now how one goes about hiding or unhiding the trash, I've no idea.

Try relaunching your dock. Google for it if you don't know how.

That's not hidden, the icon is completely invisible. The Trash icon is mostly silver anyway and would show up on that, even when hidden. A dock relaunch should fix it though.
