No. Running under virtualisation is going to be impossibly slow for most games (and the majority of modern games won't run that way anyhow).

Crossover does not use bootcamp nor a full install of windows inside a virtual machine.
It IS however a psuedo vm and will install the games (if supported) in what are called 'bottles' and they run. They boast Team Fortress 2 running at VERY fast speeds.
Not all games are supported though and it's still technically 'virtualization' but not really :]

They boast it but it's far from true. I had to lower the resolution somewhat, drop any hopes of a (smooth) fullscreen mode and turn all the graphics down to low (in DX7/8 mode).
I can imagine Crossover being quite good for 2D games and older 3D titles. It's just not that great for anything circa 2004.
