Is booting windows using bootcamp a true Dual Boot?
meaning, am i booting OSX, and booting windows within it?

to better clarify

let's say i install Mac OSX in Harddisk 1. Windows Vista in HD 2.. HD3 is for data.

If i removed HD1, can i still boot windows?

thanks!

No, you are booting Windows by itself. Not sure about boot order in the case of HD 1 being removed, that might be dependent on the EFI partition present on the first drive. So, it is a true dual-boot, you're not booting Windows within OS X—but I'm not sure about how EFI handles the pass-off to BIOS emulation mode and what's required in terms of stuff in firmware vs. stuff in the EFI partition on the HD.
