I'm considering buying the song, she sounds like she'll be a good live act.

What i want to know is when is apple going to rock out with a new device that isn't an iPod. Doesn't always have to be soft boingy lame (cough) tunes, does it? What about Sammy Hagar? Doesn't HE matter???

Um, when has Sammy Hagar ever mattered???

Apple selects music that's appropriate for the ad and the product. The quality of the song itself is sometimes an afterthought.

Probably the best example is the iPhone background music.

(Which means Sammy Hagar will almost certainly never be selling MacBooks.)

Cool article. I bought Feist's album and Yael Naim's. I'd never heard of either artist, and now I'm loving them both.

Bought both songs as soon as I saw the ads. Guess I wasn't the only one.:D

Apple likes to keep "new device" stuff secret until it's almost ready to roll.

About the music:

Weren't you around for the iPod "Sparks" ads with Wynton Marsalis?

soft boingy tunes? Yeah, NOT.

And the first ad they did for 2nd gen nano the one with the ipod-as-skywriter in colors and the wacko "we will control the lows..." music? I forgot to find out who did that, somebody will maybe help me out on this  :)

And... Caesars did an iPod ad too. The first shuffle, I think. What a stitch to hear them singing Jerk it Out as background for that great dance team that does the silhouette ads.

And.. the first gen nano ad    with the wack album covers all over the place falling into the nano with that wild music? I play that ad to this day when I need a cuppa coffee and there isn't any yet.

hmm my fangirl sash might be showing.. back to popcorn and my substitute for the Superbowl (pics of Miami landscapes in old CSI Miami shows running marathon now on an powerbook...)

ps - @ Badandy who suggested in another thread that maybe it's silly to watch ol' Horatio Caine run his same gig over and over, well this is the chilly mountains and IT'S THE MIAMI LANDSCAPE I'm watching, not the plot. I crave the warm Miami colors in February. Cheap trip on a powerbook!

Its a good song...bought it...not the album, but I might. I picked up Feist's 1234 plus two other songs, both of which are good.

Yael's continuing fame is pretty much ensured. Just look at Feist.
