Anyone running Maya 8 on an Imac?

I'm just wondering if any of you are running Maya 8 on a Imac and tell me how does it run? I know a Mac pro is recommended for doing 3d animation but what about an Imac? is it going to be a big of a deal if i'm doing just small things, I mean I won't be using it to do whole movies on it.

I just would like to know your experiences

I haven't run Maya on my iMac, but I am currently trying a set of Photoshop CS3 Extended 3D plugins from Strata.
"Plug-in" does not begin to describe the power and sophistication of this software.
It runs beautifully, and the price is right: $150 for the modeling, rendering and matching plugins.
