Hi, trying to "secure" my other computers in home by using WEP from older Linksys router, but can't figure out how to get older desktop iMac PPC (OS 10.3.9) which works fine with Linksys Wireless B-Ethernet Bridge now, but is not 'secure.'
Here's what I've tried:

1. from my computer running OS 10.5.1, from which the main router is linked, I went into Linksys Setup, went to WEP Mandatory, selected 128, entered passphrase, wrote down 26 alphanum. code.

2. went to iMac with Linksys Bridge, and found indeed I couldn't connect to internet, so on this iMac I went to:

a) Internet Connect application, selected "802.1x configuration", which asks for User Name and Password. I don't know what this means, what "user name" what "password"? Where do I get these?

b) There is no Airport Card on this PPC iMac which is the message I get when clicking on Airport application.

c) When clicking on Airport Admin Utility, selecting "other", a window appears with this: IP Address 10.0.1.1 & and then a Password is asked for -- again, what password?

d) I also went to System Prefs-->Network which says "built-in ethernet is active and has IP address 192.168.1.5"

One more thing too I'd like help with: I then went back and disabled WEP and the iMac was again able to connect to internet. Then I went back to my Linksys setup page and changed the SSID name and SSID Broadcast to Disable as I heard that adds an extra layer of protection? But doing that again caused iMac to not be able to connect to internet (even though at this time I'd disabled WEP). So what do I do with SSID, whatever that is, and for my other computers wanting to use my wireless which have more recent technologies, how do I get them to be able to connect, using WEP and disabling SSID (my son has a windoze XP machine, and I have a MacBook.)

Obviously I don't know what I'm doing here.... Thank you so much in advance!
