Would the 9800 GT work in the Mac Pro for windows?
Also, I have a 8800 GT coming for my MP in March. Assuming the 9800GT works, would I have enough space to be able to keep both in my machine and simply switch the monitor plug between graphics cards when changing the OS? (or would this run too hot?)
Thanks

Would the 9800 GT work in the Mac Pro for windows?Yes, just like every other video card.
I wouldn't worry too much about heat but power might be an issue.

Hmm,
Well, as I would mostly use the 8800GT for gaming in Windows, if the 9800GT works, I should probably just keep the 2600 for mac and buy the 9800 instead of 8800.
Do you think this would still pose a heat or power issue?

Do you think this would still pose a heat or power issue? You'll be fine with both of those cards but the 9800GT is going to need supplemental power just like the 8800GT.

i'd worry about drivers in osx though..but if you're cool with changing out the cards every time you reboot then by all means..

I only boot into Windows about twice a week, so it's no big deal

Not now but I think you will change your mind after 3 weeks. It will become a pain in the @%&...
The 9800GT is just a 8800GT SLI on a single card. It isn't worth it, especially for games without driver support.

That's the 9800 GX2, the GT will probably not be out for 3-6 months.

The website i originally saw it on listed the GX2 as a GT so. Can't trust anything you read on websites :D
