Anyway to import .mpg to iMovies?

Got my new macbook today and am trying to import .mpg files that i burnt onto a disk from my pc (this is my first mac...). It's saying the files are unrecognizable? Thanks in advance...any help appreciated. 😕
 
There are a few different tools that will allow you to convert video on the Mac from one type to another.

One of the easier ones I've found is called VisualHub. It's not free, but it's fairly inexpensive.

There'll probably be a few more replies to this thread with other recommendations, so just play around and see which one meets your needs. 🙂
