I have a MacBook Pro that I can't seem to purge some files from. I use TivoTransfer (part of Toast) to bring Tv shows from my DVR to my computer. I currently have 28 gig of shows that I wanted to Trash, and thought I had. I use the "Whatsize" app to see what is on my Mac, and it is telling me the files are still on my computer...even though Spotlight is not finding them. I am lost, and not sure what else to try to do to free up the 28 gigs of space. There is nothing in the trash, and I have done a Secure Empty Trash already. Any ideas?

Have you moved the Tivo transfers from their default position? If I am not mistaken those files are saved (by default) in a folder called "Tivo Transfers" or "Tivo Recordings" inside your "Documents" folder.

Yes, the files were in the default folder:

users/myname/documents/tivorecordings ...

which is where whatsize says they are. but when i go to that folder there are O items.

You might try deleting the entire folder.
