I've seen a lot of posts with people guessing dates, guessing upgrades, so I'm making a thread of why you think its delayed. So lets start speculating why.

1. Testing OSX 10.5.2.
2. Testing new hardware.
3. Giving MBA some of the limelight.

I think #1 and #3 are probable. I don't think there will be much of a hardware change, so #2 is out for me.

Hardware = Penryn integration. If you've worked in the industry you'll know its not a matter of plugging it in ... System level tests, burnin tests etc ... All these things take time.

Montevina is due out sometime May/June-ish, right?
Perhaps Apple is waiting for that. Before anyone starts, Apple has waited a year between updates before (see iMac).
Also, with Apple's buddybuddy relationship with Intel, perhaps they will get exclusive rights to have Montevina early, like with the Mac Pro's Clovertown chips. I'm not talking about like next week early, but perhaps late April?

Sorry, did I miss something?
Has Apple posted a date for the MBP to be updated and subsequently missed that date?
What is this delay of which you speak?

1. Testing 10.5.2
2. Macbook Air needs to gain marketshare first
3. New iPhone upgrade, so they will not want to distract the consumers with even more new upgrades
4. Because Steve wants to torture us :(
