Problem buring a DL DVD, won't verify.

im trying to burn a DL dvd. its 6.something gigs.
i was told to burn as slow as possible.
disk utility selects 2.4x and wont let me change it.
it never EVER verifies correctly, and these coasters are getting expensive.

any ideas?

Have you tried to play them back, even though the verification fails? A friends of mine had this once and his disks played back fine, even though verification never worked.

Have you tried other programs like Toast? I hardly, have any issues with Toast, although i have Disc Verification turned off.

i haven't tried any others.
if i try to use the disc, it trys to verify before it uses itself, and fails then. if i skip that, then the install fails half way through, and im left with a brick of a laptop. again.
