Annoying black box repetitions

Very recently, I started to get black boxes ringing around everything, whether a dialogue box or general web browsing. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? It's annoying the hell out of me.

Don't worry now - someone pointed out my voice utility happened to be turned on. Works fine now.
