Some people don't understand that Apple's prices are "so high" because they only sell the newest (+1 or 2 previous generations) hardware. The $399 computer from Dell is 7-10 generations behind (heck they still sell things running Pentium D), the stuff of the current generation is much more expensive(after buying all the software that comes with a Mac, and Vista Ultimate or Home Premium).
