Hi,
I am wondering if someone can explain what actually is happening when you press the Go>Connect to Server or "Apple + K". I am thinking of making a shortcut for it on Windows but not sure what exactly it does, is it similar to using telnet and connecting to a server?
Thanks

Erm, well in the way I use it, it connects to a file server, i.e. over AFP. We use it to connect to network shares etc. Mounts the share right up like a drive.

What do you mean? Its connecting to a server, well, you have to know the address for it. Its basically connecting to another computer so you can share files and such with it.

Well does it just say to the server or machine, Log me in, here's my login name and password. Or is there something else happening in the background that I don't know about? Would this be like going to the terminal and using mount_afp.
