I've got an HP PSC-1510 and it is a great small footprint all-in-one, even comes with some decent Mac software for OCR. The newer PSC's seem to be a bit larger but they still seem to be smaller than most. The paper tray even folds up on the 1510 so when I'm not using it it is a 17 x 11 x 6 box.

Probably this right now.

As far as a flatbed is concerned you're kind of limited in terms of size variation.

I got the HP 5280 (I think that was the number). The HP software seems to work quite well**.

It's an all in one printer for $130 at Sams club.

I choose this model because of the use of only 2 ink cases.

*Always have the printer turned off when booting up the computer.
This may go for other printers too.
(There are 2 background process for my HP printer - HP Event Handler and HP IO Classic Proxy - that I believe cause the boot up problem.)

** Computer boots up in open firmware. (not a big problem, but ARGG!)
