Is it possible to put content on Apple TV without syncing?

I just recently purchased a 160GB :apple:TV and would like to know if it's possible to put content on it without syncing from one of my computers. Is it possible to just put content directly to it without syncing? If I were to delete a TV show from my laptop is it possible to keep it on my :apple:TV?

As of now, no. I bought one hoping to do exactly the same. I'm hoping that the software update will fix this though, as I don't want all my stuff filling up my iTunes library!

Just map the drive from your laptop and copy the files. I do it all the time and it works perfectly.
