Gary's Mod Trouble.

Ok. So I got gmod from steam, and it works great runnings at high settings. but there is a problem. There is no text on any of the menus. Does anybody know what is going on? Any help would be freaking amazing.

the same problem happens to portal for some people, and there is a fix

If the text is not displaying in your menu's, ou need to use the team fortress 2 alpha hack described here: http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=1168;forum=1;msg=7319 Basically, run regedit from the command line and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\hl2.exe\Direct3D, and change the tf2_alpha_hack key to be "-game tf2; -game ep2; -game portal". This will make add portal and ep2 to the list of executables this hack is invoked for.

you'd probably make it gmod or garrysmod instead of portal

Oh, and by the way, I'm running crossover, not wine. But thank you for the advice. I'm working on it right now.

edit: sorry for second guessing you. I found ou why it was wine.
