Um, I'm not going to tell you who it's for. But, their birthday is coming up, and he.. oh fine, it's me.
:D
Anyway, what would be a good computer/tech thing to get for myself?
I was thinking maybe Harman/Kardon Soundsticks, a new office chair, or maybe a nice wireless keyboard, good for someone who looks at the keys while typing.
What do you guys think? Keep in mind that this would most likely be an accessory to my ThinkPad t60. or a macBook, maybe, later.
Thanks!

How old are you turning? Happy Birthday in advance.
I would say soundsticks because laptop speakers aren't great in general and macbook ones are horrendous. JBL Creatures are equally as good as the Soundsticks and cost less so you should keep those in mind. I don't think a wireless keyboard is really worth it. Chairs are nice, I've been looking to get a replacement myself and I am sure you can find something on sale at staples.
Do you have an iPod? iPod Speakers are always good.

If you want something computer related, I recommend a set of new speakers. I have JBL Creatures, and they have been great. I had some problems with buzzing lately, but they are two years old and it seems turning them off solves that. I'm sure they are cheaper than they were a couple of years ago (mine were $100 w/shipping).

Do you travel a lot?
If so, and Airport Express might be good. Just plug in the hotel wired connection, and viola, you now have a wireless network in your hotel room so you can use your laptop anywhere. Very handy and convenient.

Is that the new 3GHz quad core with 4GB or RAM? Sweet! (sorry...couldn't resist).
My suggestion? Really good head phones. I think Apple's are poopy. Alternately, good speakers or the new BT Alum keyboard.

Dude, you're 14. Don't be worrying about computer stuff - just enjoy what you have. Buy something that you're passionate about - if you like music, buy something musical. If you like movies, buy a bunch of movies. Life is too short to spend on computers (I just wish I could tell that to myself :-P)

soundsticks II would be great as a couple people above mentioned. they are over $100 though. You could save it up for the next iPod:D although being 14 myself, I understand the urge to get "something" for your birthday.

Office chair is always a good idea, and the bonus: it doesn't get obsolete when a new revision comes out! :D
I recently bought the "Markus" from Ikea and can highly recomend it.
Here is a picture:

It's sooooo comfortable, and it doesn't look too big and massive like many other chairs of its size.

You are absolutely right. Actually, a very nice friend if mine is getting me an MX Revolution for my birthday- I'm psyched!
To taylorwilsdon- I am not incredibly interested in much besides computers. I love music but I have enough iTunes giftcards to last a lifetime. Thank you though!
