I'm looking for the best 1920x1200 LCD (23 or 24 inch) that also has an HDMI connector for under a grand. Anyone have their thoughts on their favorite?

I like my 2405FPW. They have the 2407WFP now that is a bit nicer, but doesn't look like it has HDMI either.

Engadget lists this 2408WFP (note sure why it went from FPW to WFP after mine) that has HDMI. I could swear I saw it on their site the other day but doesn't seem to be up there at the moment:

Yeah I just saw that Dell 2408. Nice specs and has HDMI but when is it shipping? I see nothing about it on Dell's site.

I noticed they now have the 2008 and 2208, so the 2408 shouldn't be too far behind.
I bought the run-out 2407, and it's very good.
Here's some info on the 2408:

I know that says 2408, but it looks like the '07 model.

Are you wanting to go from the video card to HDMI?

I know. But that's good if you want to add a second monitor later on.

No my mac pro's 8800GTs DVI ports won't do. I'm getting a blackmagic HDMI card for color monitoring with Final Cut Pro.

I've been looking for a good solution to monitor HD footage and I really like the MXO. It has Colorbars with Blue Only so you can dial in the color and it plays back interlaced footage fairly well. It's not perfect but it's close enough for me and for the price you can't beat it. We did a 17 day HD shoot down in Panama last year and I took my ACD and the Matrox box so we could look at Dailies off of my MacBook Pro. Worked Great and the client was very happy.

Just be careful about making critial color decisions based on playback off of a consumer set.

I thought of that but MXO cost a grand by itself. This is for studio use only, I could get a decklink card with HDSDI and comp. for the same price.

Does anyone have either of the 2208's yet? They don't have HDMI but the one with the webcam has good specs and for $299 it seems like a great price. It's stricly for the MP, so I don't care about HDCP for now.

I just checked out the specs on my viewsonic lcd's - both are 300:1, one is 30 ms and the larger one is 50ms!!

Dell UltraSharp 2709W is fantastic (699.00 at Dell on sale), I don't like the plastic or finger heat buttons but as a monitor, awesome! I have two hooked up to my Mac Pro '08.

Also has Display Port with HDMI. ;)

Cinema Display. Get a cheap ACER 1920x1200 1080P 24" LCD with HDMI for the gaming/tv capability. But undoubtedly the Cinema Display is the BEST computer display for graphic, photo, video, design. No other.
