Wake up from sleep (& external monitor), *sigh*

I just can't believe apple still hasn't fixed the issue with waking up from sleep, especially when hooked to the external acd monitor. Have to force-restart my macbook pro (c2d 2.4ghz) like every second time because it just won't wake up properly.

What's going on?

I am having a sleep/wake problem with my iMac that may be similar to yours. I installed 10.5.2 on Monday and starting today on both my iMacs they won't wake up from sleep and instead I have to restart. Don't think our problems are exactly the same but they sound similar and its pretty annoying.

mine has not woken up from sleep twice already. I have to turn off the power surge protector to get it to do anything.

hashed to death - but no solution

there is another thread on this topic already... hashes it to death, but there is no real (ie permenant and global) solution. It does seem to be linked to 10.5.2 and/or the graphics update.
just search the forums for "macbook pro won't wake from sleep"
