hi all!

Anyone know how I can prevent my powerbook going into sleep mode when i shut the lid? I'm using it to watch movies that are on the HDD and am connecting it to my TV... much better to be able to shut the lid when I'm doing this... but can't stop it going into sleep mode when I close the lid...

cheers for your help :)

I think you need to use a USB keyboard to wake it up once it's gone to sleep. Could be wrong though.

thanks, but I'm actually after a solution that prevents it going to sleep in the first place...

You don't say what sort of PowerBook you have. Here is Apple's official solution for the 12" PowerBook http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86286

Use a USB keyboard and mouse.

Now, would that address all my video ram to the external monitor?
