you know the really cool user feature, that is a rotating cube when you login as another user on a mac (under 10.3)

on my wife's iBook, it doesn't do that, is it because of the hardware? ie, the video ram isn't enough, or is something wrong?

any suggestions as to what could cause this?

You have to enable it. You go to the accounts section in the System Preferences Menu. Then when you get to the accounts section you go down to the section that has a little house and says login options. Then check the one that says enable fast user switching. That should enable it.

apparently it all has to do with quartz extreme, which you must have a capable video card.

as per the discussions on apple's website

looks like this little 600 mhz iBook just can't swing that.
