My school's wifi network is password protected. I know the password and I can connect to the actual network and get an IP but no DNS. I try using public DNS servers and nothing. I even got the DNS address of the school's network from one of the computers using command prompt and tried using it but still wont work.

Therefore, everything but the DNS works. How can I get the DNS to go through?

does the IP address you get start with 169.xxx.???

If so a 169 address is bogus. I have got it sometimes to and don't know how to get around it.
