Hi,

There are several sites out there that give you near realtime earthquake information on a Mac/PC Google map.

I would like to annouce that there is now a capability to display near realtime earthquake information formatted for the iPhone at ...

http://www.itouchmap.com/?r=earthquake

Earthquake information is pulled from the USGS website and reformatted for Google maps on the Mac/PC and iPhone. It works best on Wi-Fi but can be pulled up on EDGE in approximately 30 seconds if you have a good connection.

Thanks,
Al

Given the choice, I believe that I would choose my iPhone over earthquakes any day.:D

Neat app, though.

I see many people working in this, there are a lot earthquake apps with maps now that load very fast. Mashing up of maps and different kind of data feeds is very cool.

Check out on ITunes: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=308339996&mt=8 (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=308339996&mt=8)

I wonder if there is any service which provides predictive earthquake information? I know this is possible in other parts of the world, how about in California?

Does the phone shake when an earthquake is coming? If this was on 3.0 the push notification could let us know of earthquake warning, and the phone vibrate accordingly. ;)
